Any guesses on the next Pasta deal? My guess will be somewhere in the area of 6 year/11 per or maybe 8 years 10-10.5per? Gonna be a spendy one but worth it. |

Yeah but with what team?
I love how 98.5 is talking the Big Sween is going to try an acquire a 1st rounder....with what trade capital?
Also they're somehow signing Krejci and Bergeron with 2 mil of cap space. |

Yeah, all the rumors are crazy. I say Pasta signs for 6x10. No reason, just a guess.
They need to schedule more divisional home/home games. (Boston has only one against Detroit.) The hatred after those games used to create some rivalries which the ratings/fans could use. |

Can be done. $1M each with very heavy incentives. The incentives come off next year's cap. Not saying that's the best move or what will happen...but could be done. |

Stating the obvious. What's in it for either one of them? Especially Krejci? It's weird for me to scoff at a sheet but both of these buys are multi millionaires. This is nothing short of asinine. |

Have you seen how many Free Agents Bruins will have that year?
Bruins won't have nearly as much space as you think they will, and won't be able to ice a team with all the incentive-carry-overs. |

What do you mean, what's in it for them? The incentives push the "actual" salary to an appropriate level (and Bergeron is not gong to be looking to "cash in"...and I doubt Krejci is either) but delays the cap hit until next year when they have plenty of room. |

You guys are right...guess we should all just forget about watching the Bs for a few years.
Yep, they have a lot of UFAs next season and a large percentage of those you are not going to want back. The vast majority of the UFAs are bottom 6 players and in many cases not very good at that. Those roles can be filled cheaper than the current levels. Sweeney may not be a great GM in terms of player selection, in particular FAs (okay, that should read..."is not"), but he is very good with managing the cap. |

Do you really think Bergeron is coming back for the money (if he does in fact come back)? Both of these guys are at the very end of their careers (although they both could probably continue for at least a few years if they wanted to and be VERY effective). Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see it being about the money (particularly Bergeron). I guess we will find out in a few days. |

Beside that fact you're a Bruins fan, why would either of them especially Krejci return for Vet minimum? This team has no shot as constituted. So why would they do that?
Most likely space will be cleared to sign Bergeron for something reasonable. Krejci is 100% not coming back. There is no reason to and I'm basing that off his reasons for leaving in the 1st place. Family.
Take off the rose colored glasses and stop drinking the Kool-aid. You're drunk on it dude.

Only reason either player would consider coming back for a ultra-cheap deal would be if the Bruins had an excellent chance of going to the Finals. Bruins chances of winning are not "excellent".

I cannot believe that someone actually wrote on here that Sweeney is great at managing the Cap. REALLY??!! The discounted contracts that the B's were fortunate enough to get guys to sign (Bergy, Marchy and Pasta) had little to do with Sweeney and was more a testament and commitment by those guys' will to field a competitive team. Look up the Bruins cap friendly and look at all the atrocious overpays Sweeney's doled out- Hall (really? Hall should be making just $250 shy of Marchand? If he really wanted to be a Bruin and be the fit he should've been a $5-5.5 signing).-Coyle- about $1.5 million overpaid. Carlo- overpaid by at least $1 mill, Foligno should never have been offered a contract let alone $3.8 million, Gryz- overpaid. Lets not forget the draft picks he's had to hand out to cover his signing blunders of Backes, John Moore etc.
Sweeney is a lot of things...but an excellent Cap manager isn't one of them |

The prospect of Krejci and Patrice coming back cheap is not asinine.
Krejci just played for his home town team for less than the Nhl league minimum most likely. it seems like he may not have liked Bruce with the comments he made during the season about never getting a chance to play with Pasta.
If he’s playing in the Nhl next season. He’ll be in Boston |

The bolded is key. His family does not live in Boston.
It's a bit of a fantasy that some fans here are expecting the cavalry to come to the rescue - for a pittance no less...

Yes. It is. Completely and utterly ridiculous. I can see Bergeron doing it. He's taken haircuts for this team his whole career. Krejci never has. Nor should he. Nor should either of them. Not at the level they're both producing.
This isn't a Pittsburgh situation. The window is closed. It is time to rebuild. |

Now when you go off on all the "atrocious" contracts are you actually comparing to other NHL players OR do you just not like the production?
Every team has bad contracts. That is a product of being involved in free agency. The Bruins barely have any back breaking contracts.
The Hall contract was below market value and short term.
The Foligno contract sucks but it was also only two years.
The main contract I question was the immediate 8 year deal for Lindholm. Could be questionable if he can't stay healthy.
